The Return-to-Work (RTW) Division specializes in rehabilitating disabled persons and workers who have suffered workplace injuries or occupational diseases to improve their quality of life.
Rehabilitation services are available at the SOCSO Rehabilitation Centre in 146 rehabilitation centres approved by SOCSO throughout Malaysia.
The rehabilitative treatments provided include:
Therapy for breathing, movement, cardiac, neurological, and sensory problems
Speech therapy
Burn therapy
Pain management
Psychological counselling
After receiving physical and mental rehabilitation based on biopsychosocial concepts from medical professionals, the person will then receive support from his/her case manager to return to the workforce.
Case managers will refer cases to the Work Therapy Unit if the patient needs occupational therapy to enable them to perform their normal tasks at work. Case managers will also recommend that patients receive prosthetic devices and vocational training if required.
Case managers assist with:
Seeking occupational therapy
Recommending prosthetics or mobility aids
Vocational training
Job placement
Personalized workplace support

The training fee is paid directly to the training providers, while eligible training recipients may also receive a financial incentive.
Eligible Job Search Allowance (JSA) recipients may be referred to attend vocational skills training after consulting their ESO
Training costs of up to RM4,000 will be borne by EIS
An incentive paid at a daily rate of RM10-RM20 depending on the recipient’s previous assumed salary
Training recipients must attend all mandated training sessions to be eligible
This internationally acknowledged certification was designed by the National Institute of Disability Management and Research Canada (NIDMAR) and was brought to Malaysia by SOCSO in 2010. While it is used as a guide in disability management training programs around the globe, Malaysia is the only ASEAN country to have adopted this certification.
Individuals who obtain this certification will be recognized as Disability Managers, who are capable professionals equipped with the skills and knowledge to design comprehensive disability management policies. Policies include developing assessments, operational procedures, case management, and evaluation of outcomes.
To increase participation from individuals of all backgrounds, this certification is open to all and is available in both Bahasa Malaysia and English.

This certification is similar to CDMP, only differing in that it focuses more on the operational aspect of case management.
Participants will receive instruction in working with other professionals, case management etc. Obtaining this certification benefits employers as it increases employee morale and productivity while reducing the cost for the company.
